Among the Mediterranean ports, the Port of Málaga is becoming positioned as an indispensible point of reference with regard to container traffic. The terminal for this traffic consists of an area of 40 hectares, with two Super Post Panamax moorings, a 723-metre long mooring line with a 17-metre draught. Its maximum capacity is 750,000 movements (units) and it maintains the highest ratio of productivity in Spain, thereby reducing operational costs.
The same terminal also operates the traffic of vehicles as cargo, for which it has a ro-ro mooring of 170 metres in length and 17 metres draught. Its present capacity is for around 100,000 vehicles.
The Terminal has the necessary equipment for all this to be operative, its capacity for 7 Super Post Panamax cranes being particularly noteworthy.
